Component 3: Improved School Management and Community Engagement

This component stands as a cross-cutting component assisting both access (component 2) and quality (component 4) through various strategies such as capacity building support for school planning, beacon school development, capacity building support to Technical Support Groups (TSGs) for classroom monitoring and observation, leadership training, study trips and identification of model education practitioners. TSGs are made up of locally recruited individuals that comprise school vice directors and Technical Grade Leaders for each subject and this component will improve the ability of TSGs to support teachers through classroom observations. A key element of this component is that all school directors of the target schools will participate in an intensive 2-year School Management and Leadership Training Course, which will be carried out in a similar fashion to the Cambodian Education Sector Support Program (CESSP) of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
